Division: Brannan Sand + Gravel

Position: Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator Breaker

Reports To: Plant Manager

FLSA Status: Full Time

Location: Denver Metro and Surrounding Areas

Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 / hr

Sign-on Bonus: $1,000.00

Seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator (CAT 330 Excavator with breaker bit / CAT 982 Loader).

Position Summary:

As a "Heavy Equipment Operator", your general responsibilities will be working with the plant crew pre-breaking recycled materials such as concrete and asphalt down to size to be processed through a crusher. Once processed, these materials are used in construction applications for our Denver area asphalt and concrete plants. The asphalt and concrete that we produce is a key component to many Denver area construction projects.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility involves the safe and skilled operation of a CAT 330/336 Excavator with a breaker attachment to prebreak concrete and asphalt. Loader operation of a CAT 980/982 moving material and feeding into a crusher
  • Strong understanding and daily compliance with Brannan safety standards and policies as they relate to a "Recycle Plant Equipment Operator."
  • Daily compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies
  • The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform thorough pre-trip + post-trip inspections daily
  • Grease equipment as required by manufacture recommendations
  • Assists in maintenance and repairs of the plant, conduct daily safety walk around making sure the plant is in safe working condition
  • Ensure the plant is running at its maximum efficiency and if it is not, communicate this to the plant manager
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism
  • Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Must have a "safety first" attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public at all times
  • Ability to work various hours with overtime

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years Heavy Equipment experience
  • Knowledge of running a breaker/hammer or pulverizer preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License
  • Must have flexibility for overtime
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Show up to work every day, and on time
  • No use of cell phones during work shifts
  • Must be safety-minded, team-oriented and customer-focused
  • Detail and technically oriented individual
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management skills; good planning skills; able to multi-task
  • Able to work in outdoor setting under varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements:

  • Standing - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Walking - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Sitting - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Bending/Stooping - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping) - 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Lifting (weights up to 50 lbs.) - Occasionally
  • Lift and Carry (50/60 lbs. for 20 feet) - Regularly
  • Push / Pull - 8 to 10 hours daily
